Prints and images
Just recently I started using www.redbubble.com to post my art, both as a showcase for originals and an easy way to buy prints online. Ask me about pricing for original work and any other questions you may have. I will be adding more pages of images soon.

And here are a few other images, photographs, paintings, and conceptual art. My artist statement is here. In addition to my standalone works on canvas, glass, and paper, I am working on a series of photographs that document the process and environment of my art making. These photographs are standalone works that document a process but also create or manifest an end product just as valid and sometimes more interesting than the final finished piece.
These photos and other prints are available on Redbubble:

My first shows were in Ohio from 1995 to 2001, where I had a studio space at Studio 425 in Kent for several years. We had group and individual shows. I also showed work at The Zephyr, a vegetarian restaurant and The Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent.
When I moved to Berkeley in 2001 I eventually joined an art collective called Makestuff, which lasted for a while as a loosely connected group of houses, mainly graphic artists but others as well. I had a studio there and then when I moved to San Franciso in 2004 I eventually showed two pieces in the Black Light Ball and then this year at the Church St Cafe, the campaign HQ of Carol Migden, and recently at Art Explosions as part of our October Open Studios.
I have been fortunate to sell numerous pieces in the last two years including works on glass, mixed media, and photography.
I am also a writer which probably gives me more of an affinity toward lingustics and theory, although a lot of my art is about moving away from language and the idea of language and linguistic structures toward a more purely visual context. Most art theory would say this is not possible which is a nice challenge.
This link is a sample of recent work with links to other example of my art and photography.

Charles Keatts: Artist Statement
I like to use found objects, materials for my art that are "non-artistic", such as windows, car radiators, picnic lights, spackle, and resin, combined with traditional materials like oil paint and canvas. I think there exists a suggestionin my art ofa tension between art and non-art.
The lights and translucent windows remind me of stars, angels, bodhisattvas, and a mystical or magical world. I made these pieces over the last five years since I came to San Francisco and I think they reflect my practice in Buddhism and trying to stay in the present moment, focusing on the materials and the situation at hand. They also reflect my interest in the modern tradition of dada, conceptual art and assemblage, looking at something as interesting or beautiful in its own way, as an object transformed.
The work of Anselm Kiefer comes to mind specifically his thoughts on angels. Stars produce radiation and radiate heat, among other things. I have created my own constellations using various types of lights in windows. The energy of stars is produced by fusion, which could describe my methods, fusing the disciplines of painting, sculpture, and conceptual art.
Modifying objects like windows and radiators is interesting to me because I like to take things that have been used or are retired, discarded, disposed of, and recycle them for other uses.
I have been making art since 1989, starting as a self-taught abstract painter with a background in English literature, writing, and theory. I studied art and theory at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Kings College London.
Breast Cancer Fund
10% of my sales from this year will go to the Breast Cancer Fund. A good friend who now lives in Amsterdam, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is going through chemo right now, reminding me to support this important organization. When I went to Mt. Shasta two years ago to support another friend for her climb I learned a lot about the BCF and heard many powerful stories. I am committed to using healthier materials in my art and raising awareness of diet and toxins that lead to cancer.
