I am happy and excited to say that my first novel, Blue, is available again in paperback after many years of being just on Kindle. It is slightly revised and has a new cover, but is essentially the same book. At the same time, both of my published novels are now available together in one book, paperback and Kindle. I think they go well together and show how my writing evolved after I published Blue.
Blue was published a few years after I quite drinking, in my thirties, and was partially written during that time. It was originally a series of fragments, short stories and prose poems, that I decided to meld together into a novella length book. In the Flat Field emerged as a single continuous storyline after my friend Ann Carter died and was always a cohesive narrative that only became more fragmented as I went back and rewrote and revised the story. Then I went back and revised it again to try to make it more readable.
I don't in the end try to write difficult stories or novels. My new memoir in process is the same way. I know they resonate with some and not with others, and being compared to Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, Kathy Acker is great.
These new editions can be found on Amazon here: Blue a novel and Two Novels and if you want a signed paperback copy feel free to email/venmo me and I will be happy to write and ship it to you directly in the United States. keatts@gmail.com.
